With regional trials illness and injuries Hill were forced to draft in several players from the lower age group for their travels to Cheltenham to play Old Pats. The hybrid team however started well and were soon ahead with a penalty from Ryan Dawson. They then had several chances to set their mark on the game but last minute errors saw the opportunities drift away into the fog. Frustration started to set in after infringements caused the game to become disjointed and the play rarely getting pass the first phase before the whistle was blown. Hill did mange to score just before the break with a powerful run from Tom Burford which burst through the Old Pats defence putting them 10 -3 ahead. On the restart the game resumed it's stuttering format, Hill's frustration grew resulting in a sending off and the 14 players soon became 13 when William Tyler was injured with no substitutes left. With several other players struggling with knocks they held on to the final minute of play when Old Pats touched down in the corner to take the victory. With the Christmas break shortly upon us Hill should have time to get their team back to full fitness ready for the county cup.

Hucclecote 5 Berry Hill 14
Berry Hill sealed their first victory in 5 years against Hucclecote, although coming close several times and drawing on on occasion it's not been since they were under 10's that Hill have been a head at the final whistle. With so much possession Hill should have been further ahead but poor decision making and handling errors saw them only touch down twice. The first came after the ball was moved wide for Sam Hughes to go over in the corner. Captain Conor Evans was in fine vocal form and kept the team focused to see Will Tyler touch down in the second half putting them 14 points ahead. Hucclecote did strike back with a try but Hill continued to pressurise until the end. This was a strong committed performance from an improving Hill side but they need to work on their tactical game play and handling skills in training .

Berry Hill 24 Monmouth 19
Even starting an hour later for remembrance Sunday Hill were still caught sleeping and quickly conceded a try after several missed tackles. This was the wake up call they needed as they started to pressurise Monmouth's line and after several near attempts Ben Robbins broke through to touch down. Rather than settling into their game however Hill appeared to rush things and kick away possession instead of keeping ball in hand. The game remained tight for the first half but Monmouth found themselves a man down after Tom Burford was high tackled after a great breaking run. It was Tom Burford again who moved Hill ahead with first ever try after a long period in Monmouth's half. Monmouth showed some great defensive play and held Hill's attack up but it was Craig Harris who finally when over to finish off this close match.
Tom Burford marked his great performance by picking up Hills man of the match.

Berry Hill 31 Cirencester 7
Berry Hill quickly shook off last weeks defeat with a great win over old rivals Cirencester. Matches between these 2 teams over that last few seasons have always been a close affair but it was Hill who opened up the scoring with Craig Harris taking the unusual option to slot over a drop goal. Confidence started to grow after Callum Wyman and Matty Office touched down putting the home team 15 points ahead at the break. On the restart Cirencester hit back with a converted try after Hill committed too many players at the breakdown and failed to organised themselves quickly enough to defend. Hill however kept up the pressure and with 2 further tires from Cobi Robinson and Matty Office sealed the win. This was Hill's best performance of the season and hopefully they can keep up the momentum against Monmouth next week.
Good to see scrum half Luke Davis at the match who injured his collar bone in training on Wednesday . The team wish him a speedy recovery.

Berry Hill 0 Worcester 56
Berry Hill faced their worst ever defeat when they hosted Worcester at Lakers road on the weekend. Although having their share of possession they were slower in numbers to the rucks and mawls and lost too many attacking line out ball allowing Worcester to take control and by the break they were already trailing by 21 points. During the second half Hill forced themselves on several occasions into the oppositions 22 but great defending meant they were unable to capitalise on their efforts. Hopefully this will be a wake up call and the team will refocus and train harder for the next match against Cirencester.

Matson 29 Berry Hill 12
With players out on county duty Hill travelled to Matson with a a bare squad but this didn't deter them from opening up the scoring with a great run from Ricky Davies.Sam Hughes then broke through to increase the led before Matson started to hit back to level the score at 12 piece . Hill however could have been a head again with a strong diagonal run from Billy Roberts but Matson made a great defensive tackle a few feet from the line causing the ball to be spilt forward. After the restart for the second half it was the home team who were now more dominant in the scrums and line outs putting Hill under pressure and they soon took the lead with 2 more tries. Hill did show determination and started to come back into the game towards the final quarter but were unlucky to concede again with a break away in the last play.

Monmouth Festival
Berry Hill 18 Abergavenny 8 Berry Hill 14 Dowlais 5
Berry Hill 12 Monmouth 5
Berry Hill won all their 3 games to lift the U16 trophy at the Monmouth Junior Festival. The first game against Abergavenny set the tone for the afternoon with strong pressure from the forwards allowing Will Lewis to touch down between the posts and Billy Roberts to take a great pick up nearly off his boot to seal the match. Dowlais were the second opponents, Hill again looked strong and seized on mistakes to put them ahead with the kicking of Ryan Dawson. The final game against Monmouth was the closest with the home team sticking to their game plan and putting Hill under pressure. Hill scored first with Matty Office who was in outstanding form touching down. After the break Monmouth levelled the score and so it was game on to the final whistle. Hill however were not going to let things slip through their fingers and upped their game to put Matty over for the second time.
Hill player of the tournament was awarded to Matty Office

Berry Hill 10 Cleve 34
Berry Hill hosted Gloucestershire county champions Cleve at Lakers road for the first time in 2 years. Hill started strongly taking the lead with a penalty from Ryan Dawson and with confidence growing Cobi Robinson broke through running three quarters of the pitch to touch down between the posts. After converting the try with Hill 10 points up the visitors started to gain their stride and pulled 2 tries back to go into the break 2 points ahead. On the restart Hill had another chance to regain the lead with a penalty but the ball went wide. Tiredness and injury now began to show on the side and Cleve started to take control of the game and run in another 4 tries to seal the victory.
Hill’s man of the match was awarded to Harry Brown

Berry Hill 26 Old Richians 5
Berry Hill U16's opened up their season with a win over Old Richians. Hill started a little rusty but soon blew off the cobbwebs as they started to take control with some excellent forward play to see Matty Office go over to open up the scoring. Callum Wyman increased Hill's lead before last season's highest try scorer Cobi Robinson touched down to see the home team go into the break 21 points ahead. The second half saw more pressure from Hill with Craig Harris scoring in the corner and a great charge down being disallowed but the final score came from Old Richians in the last 30 seconds as they capitalised from a penalty in Hill's 22. Berry Hill's players of the match were Ryan Dawson and Callum Wyman
