Hucclecote 5 Berry Hill 14

Berry Hill sealed their first victory in 5 years against Hucclecote, although coming close several times and drawing on on occasion it's not been since they were under 10's that Hill have been a head at the final whistle. With so much possession Hill should have been further ahead but poor decision making and handling errors saw them only touch down twice. The first came after the ball was moved wide for Sam Hughes to go over in the corner. Captain Conor Evans was in fine vocal form and kept the team focused to see Will Tyler touch down in the second half putting them 14 points ahead. Hucclecote did strike back with a try but Hill continued to pressurise until the end. This was a strong committed performance from an improving Hill side but they need to work on their tactical game play and handling skills in training .

Berry Hill 24 Monmouth 19

Even starting an hour later for remembrance Sunday Hill were still caught sleeping and quickly conceded a try after several missed tackles. This was the wake up call they needed as they started to pressurise Monmouth's line and after several near attempts Ben Robbins broke through to touch down. Rather than settling into their game however Hill appeared to rush things and kick away possession instead of keeping ball in hand. The game remained tight for the first half but Monmouth found themselves a man down after Tom Burford was high tackled after a great breaking run. It was Tom Burford again who moved Hill ahead with first ever try after a long period in Monmouth's half. Monmouth showed some great defensive play and held Hill's attack up but it was Craig Harris who finally when over to finish off this close match.

Tom Burford marked his great performance by picking up Hills man of the match.

Berry Hill 31 Cirencester 7

Berry Hill quickly shook off last weeks defeat with a great win over old rivals Cirencester. Matches between these 2 teams over that last few seasons have always been a close affair but it was Hill who opened up the scoring with Craig Harris taking the unusual option to slot over a drop goal. Confidence started to grow after Callum Wyman and Matty Office touched down putting the home team 15 points ahead at the break. On the restart Cirencester hit back with a converted try after Hill committed too many players at the breakdown and failed to organised themselves quickly enough to defend. Hill however kept up the pressure and with 2 further tires from Cobi Robinson and Matty Office sealed the win. This was Hill's best performance of the season and hopefully they can keep up the momentum against Monmouth next week.

Good to see scrum half Luke Davis at the match who injured his collar bone in training on Wednesday . The team wish him a speedy recovery.

Berry Hill 0 Worcester 56

Berry Hill faced their worst ever defeat when they hosted Worcester at Lakers road on the weekend. Although having their share of possession they were slower in numbers to the rucks and mawls and lost too many attacking line out ball allowing Worcester to take control and by the break they were already trailing by 21 points. During the second half Hill forced themselves on several occasions into the oppositions 22 but great defending meant they were unable to capitalise on their efforts. Hopefully this will be a wake up call and the team will refocus and train harder for the next match against Cirencester.
